When I started training with Michelle, I was a good twenty pounds overweight and had been for five years.  She motivated me when I trained with her in our sessions, and she was also very honest with me about what it would take to really lose the weight I wanted to lose and get back in shape.  She encouraged me to work out on my own and to change my eating habits. In the time we trained together, I dropped three pants sizes.  If I hadn’t worked with Michelle, I would never have been able to do that.  She got me back to a place where I enjoy working out and see all of its benefits. And she’s also really fun to be around – that doesn’t hurt!

Michelle will see you as an individual, and has the expertise, and imagination, to tailor a workout to your specific needs and tastes. Michelle helped me get in shape for an upcoming surfing trip, and also worked with me throughout a 2-month battle with Epstein-Barre virus. She’s worked with all types of people with all kinds of needs, including the elderly, and so she knew how to get me moving despite the bad joint pain that I got as a result of the illness. That, to me, is a good trainer–someone who knows what to do in whatever the situation may be, and help the client thrive despite would-be obstacles. She’s also positive, upbeat, encouraging, patient, and fun!

I had worked out at the Y for a number of years, using the weight machines and thought that I was completely satisfied with them. I started with Michelle because I had a specific muscle injury that needed attention. Michelle immediately saw the problem and, using the exercises she showed me, I can report that I have no problem anymore. However, that was not the end of things – Michelle taught me exercises that gave me the ability to change my routine, better work my muscles, really feel good, and not be bored doing the same routine over and over. I have never been big on exercising even though I have access to a gym through my job. I have always felt intimidated by the machines and kind of lost when I would visit a gym. As luck would have it, I happened to run into Michelle when I finally felt it was time to give the gym experience another try. Michelle made me feel very comfortable from the first time I trained with her. She was great about answering all my questions and very patient as she showed me how to do the exercises. She is great at pushing you to do your best without sounding like a drill Sergeant!  Thanks to Michelle I now actually look forward to visiting the gym
